When you go to major in film you, unfortunately, have to get your generals out of the way. I have found some general education requirements on UCLA’s website that looks pretty insightful. Click here to see what those requirements are. You can also click here to see USC’s requirements which were for 2012/2013 but I’m sure that they’d still be the same.
Now, I’m not saying that these requirements are for every school. Others may be different. This just gives you a good idea. I hope this has helped you!
Is there any school or program that you can take to just become certified instead of getting a degree? That would eliminate the hassle of taking all the general education classes.

I think you will enjoy all your General Ed classes. They seem to give you a tidbit of all the stuff in life and what you might want to learn later. They also let you see other areas of interest that you might not have thought about. Good luck!

Sensible, Lynsey. Do you know, or could you list, the courses you plan to take at BSU your first year or two, and if there will be any chance to take courses in theater or film there?
